Breakfast
Coffee and tea are made available starting approximately 7:00 a.m. each day for the early risers. Starting approximately 7:45 a.m.,
a "serve yourself" buffet with fresh fruit, a variety of juices, home-made baked goods, cereal, and yoghurt is available. A hot breakfast entrée
(that varies daily; see Recipe page) is served each morning from approximately 8:00 a.m. to about 9:30 a.m. For late
arriving guests, or those with busy schedules, the schedule above can be adjusted with prior notice. Guests may choose from seating at the large
"family" table, private tables in the dining room, or the outdoor patio. Please let us know if you have special food requirements (vegetarian, allergies, etc.)
and we will try to accommodate your needs.
Wine and Cheese Hour
On most Friday evenings, we
offer wine and various simple hors d'oeuvres on the patio (weather
permitting). The typical time is 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. We try to
have local wineries pour local Calistoga/Napa Valley/Alexander
Valley wines primarily (see our 2008 schedule on the
Specials &
Packages page) but occasionally offer something unique from another
wine region out of our cellar. This is an opportunity to relax from
your day's activities and get to know the Innkeepers and your fellow
guests a little better.
Never Empty Cookie Jar After
breakfast, we put out the Brannan Cottage Inn cookie jar (custom
made by Calistoga Pottery) filled with home-made cookies for your
afternoon or late night "snack" -- Help yourselves!
Check In/Check Out Times
Standard times are 3 pm and 11 am, respectively. Later check-ins are
handled simply. Please contact us by phone or email if you desire an
earlier check in or a later check out time; we'll see what can be
done depending on other guest schedules, etc.
WiFi Available at BCI
Thanks to the talents of one of our
guests (Jim Flint; he was urged on by his friend Dan Smith, both
were from the Denver area and here for the Napa Valley Marathon) we
now have installed, and available to our guests, a Wireless
Broadband Router for use with "wireless capable" PCs and laptops.
Now you can operate your computer in your room or on the patio or
porch! There is NO fee for the password and use of the signal. Let
us know how we can be of further assistance to you if you're one of
the guests that have to be "connected"!
Cancellation Policy Full refunds given up to seven days prior to
your arrival date, less a $25.00 cancellation charge per room. With
less than seven days notice, refunds possible only if rooms can be
re-booked. If we are unable to re-book your room, a one-night
stay will be charged to your credit card.
Minimum Stay Policy
A two (2) night minimum stay is required on weekends from
April 1 to October 31 and on holidays year-round.
Smoking Policy For the health and enjoyment of all our guests, and for
safety and security in our 145 year old wooden building, Brannan
Cottage Inn is a non-smoking facility.
Pet Policies
We would like to welcome your four footed friend to the
Brannan Cottage Inn B&B. So that they (and you and we) enjoy their
stay we ask that they (and you) abide by the following rules:
All pets have to be
pre-approved in advance, at the time of reservation, to avoid
confusion later.
There is a $100 refundable
cleaning deposit required, and an extra fee on your lodging of $25
per night + tax. The deposit will be refunded at the time of
check-out, after your room is inspected and no significant
“difficulties” are identified.
-
We do not allow pets on the
beds or furniture in the rooms or on the patio or porch. Please ask
us for an old sheet or towel if you need it.
Do not leave your pet in your
room or tied up outside alone. This includes wine tasting, hiking,
spa treatments or out for the evening. This rule cannot be broken.
The only exception is if your pet is crate trained and inside their
crate and very quiet, so they do not a) disturb other guests or b)
require us to modify our usual housekeeping activities.
We have a designated area (the westerly side of the lawn on the south side of the main building)
for the pet(s) to do their "business". Please pick up any messes
that your pet may make. You can find a shovel in the gardening shed
and small plastic bags in the kitchen (if not in your room).
Please do not leave pet food on the porch(es). Please do not feed our dog Pinot who doesn't
need any extra food.
You are responsible for any damage to the property by your pet.
Additional cleaning costs would be charged if: a) our fabulous housekeeping staff is very
thorough and in extreme cases will wash all duvets, blankets, rugs,
and the curtains if needed (accidents, excessive hair shedding,
etc.), or b) if a pet was brought to a non-pet friendly room without
our pre-approval.
We are one of the few properties in the Wine Country that allows pets. Please be
respectful of our rules and try not to spoil our current approach
for others. Guests who cannot abide by our policies will be asked to
leave with no refunds.
Large Group (Weddings, Family Reunions, Corporate Events) Policy:
We would like to welcome your large group to the Brannan
Cottage Inn B&B. So that they (and you and we) enjoy their stay we
ask that you conform to the following policies:
Large groups are defined as
groups that require three (3) or more rooms (of our total of six)
rented by (or on behalf of) the same party or event (wedding, family
reunion, corporate event, etc.). All large group rentals must be
pre-approved at the time of reservation (to avoid confusion later).
There is a requirement of an
advance and non-refundable (except as noted below) payment of
50% (one half) of the total anticipated room rental and local tax
(12%) for multi-night stays; the remainder is due at check-in. The
balance will be charged to the same credit card that was used for
your advance payment unless other arrangements have been made. For
one (1) night large group stays, we require 100% of the amount (also
non-refundable) be paid at time of reservation.
Cancellations that are made 60
or more days before the scheduled group arrival will result in
partial refund of the advance payment, minus a charge of $25 per
room (to cover administrative costs).
Partial cancellations and
changes of reservation dates may not be accepted due to availability
and minimum stay requirements. Refunds for early departures (minus a
$25 per room fee) will only be made after the room has been rebooked
for the remaining days of the reservation.
There also will be a
refundable $250 cleaning deposit required. The cleaning deposit will
be refunded at the time of check-out, after the rooms are inspected
and no significant “difficulties” are identified.
You are responsible for any
damage to the property caused by any member of your group.
We are one of a relatively few
properties in the Wine Country that allows large groups, due to some
unfortunate experiences by others. Please be respectful of our rules
and not spoil our current approach for others. Guests who cannot
abide by our policies will be asked to leave with no refunds.
